Hydropower is the only “renewable” energy source sending species to extinction, destroying carbon sinks in wetlands and oceans, deprive ecosystems of nutrients, displacing people globally, and contributing to climate change. There are more than 3500 hydropower plants in development in the balkan alone, driven by economic interests and supported by outdated policies.
